1. Be open minded! What reminds you of your grandmother's dress on the hanger, may in fact be the dress of your dreams. Remember that bridal consultants have lots of experience finding the right shape for each body type, so do not be afraid to try on lots of different styles.
2. Bring someone who knows your style! Choose family &/or a friend who knows you and will not try to force their idea of the "perfect" dress on you. And bring just one or two people with you, too many opinions can be confusing and cause hurt feelings. It is YOUR day!
3. Do NOT purchase your dress online! Not only will you miss out on the whole experience, but there is very little customer service given when things go wrong. 4. Make an appointment! For the very best service, a personal consultant to help guide you and a fitting room, appointments are a must. Avoid the stress and waiting of just walking into a salon, plan ahead and make an appointment.
5. Have fun! You may have been dreaming of this day since you were five, so don't let the decision overwhelm you. Dress shopping is supposed to be fun!
6. You can customize! If you want strapless or prefer a sweetheart neckline, ask the consultant. Chances are you can. Keep in mind there may be a charge for custom alterations.
7. Price vs. Love! If you love the dress, buy it! Don't settle for less on what your wearing for your big day. You can always take some of the budget from the centerpieces and so on. No one will know and we won't tell.8. Bring pictures! Do some research online and in magazines before your appointment. Make a scrap book of styles that you like, bring it with you when you shop. Do keep in mind, you may fall in love with a totally different style once you start trying dresses on.
9. Shop early! Wedding gown designers take 4-6 months to make a new bridal gown, plus time for shipping and alterations. We recommend finalizing your order at least 8 months prior to your wear date, this minimizes stress and maximizes discounts!
