1. What is the JW Marriott? And how long have you been around?
The JW Marriott Grand Rapids is a luxury brand hotel with a upscale yet comfortable feel. The hotel opened in September of 2007. The JW offers three different wedding packages, The Classic, The Elegant and The Signature. All the packages include: hors d’oeuvres, a starter, an entrée, coffee and tea service, cake cutting, votives, white linens, tableware, tables, chairs, risers, dance floor, staging, wedding planner software, a menu tasting and an overnight stay for the bride and groom. 2.What makes the JW stand out from other venues? Anything special you do differently?
The JW’s greatest feature is our outstanding catering. As Chef Justin Dalenberg says, “We do it right!!! We source all of our ingredients based on quality and locale first, then we build our menus around the best seasonal ingredients money can buy. We utilize age old traditions in the kitchen to maximize the flavors and textures of our ingredients, however, we do not compromise the flavor and composition of any of our dishes by over complicating the process. We are true to our 'farm to table' commitment and you can truly taste the difference just in the fact that most of our food has never been processed or handled by anyone besides our own local farmers, ranchers, fisherman and our very own JW culinary team. We take a lot of pride in the food we procure and love to share it with people wanting to try AMAZING local food the way it is supposed to taste- simple yet refined from its natural state.” 3.What is your favorite wedding memory?
My favorite JW wedding memory is receiving a big hug from a very excited mother-of-the-bride upon her arrival to the hotel the day before the wedding. She was our main contact throughout the whole process. The excitement is so contagious. It is a great reminder of the big picture of our job.
